Tutor Terms of Service

Effective Date: August 1, 2026 · Last Updated: August 1, 2026

These terms apply to tutors who create a Skolvio tutor account. If you are a parent or guardian, the terms that apply to you are the Skolvio Terms of Service.

1. Agreement to These Terms

By creating a Skolvio tutor account, or by using the Skolvio tutor portal, you agree to these Tutor Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. These terms are a legally binding agreement between you ("you," "the tutor") and 17984677 Canada Inc. ("Skolvio," "we," "us," "our"), a corporation registered in Ontario, Canada.

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into contracts. You are registering in a professional capacity, not as a consumer, and you confirm that you are legally permitted to provide tutoring services to minors in your jurisdiction.

2. What a Tutor Account Provides

A tutor account gives you access to tools intended to support your own tutoring practice:

  • Curriculum-aligned printable worksheets and answer keys, which you may generate for any grade and subject we support.
  • A roster of students whose parents have connected them to you, including each connected student's progress and concept-level performance on Skolvio.
  • The ability to assign Skolvio lessons, units and worksheets to a connected student.
  • Progress reports you can send to the parent of a connected student.
  • An optional public profile page and, if you enable it, trial lesson booking.

Skolvio does not send you students, leads, or enquiries, and makes no representation that using the tutor portal will increase your income, your student count, or your retention. Any student who appears on your roster does so because a parent chose to connect them to you.

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the tutor portal at any time, including the worksheet generator, the public profile pages and booking. We will give reasonable notice of material reductions where practical.

3. No Fees, and No Compensation

The tutor portal is provided to you free of charge. You pay Skolvio nothing to use it.

Skolvio does not pay you, and owes you nothing. There is no revenue share, referral fee, commission, bounty or other payment of any kind, whether for bringing a family onto Skolvio, for teaching a connected student, or for any other activity. Any earlier communication, pilot discussion or draft material that described a tutor payment, revenue share or referral fee is superseded by these terms and has no effect.

Skolvio takes no share of, and has no claim to, the fees you charge your students. You set your own rates, invoice your own clients, and collect your own fees, entirely outside Skolvio.

4. Your Relationship With Skolvio and With Families

You are an independent party. Nothing in these terms creates an employment, agency, partnership, joint venture or franchise relationship between you and Skolvio. You are not authorised to make any commitment, representation or warranty on Skolvio's behalf.

The tutoring arrangement is between you and the family. Skolvio is not a party to it. We do not supervise, direct, schedule or quality-control your tutoring, we are not responsible for the tutoring you deliver or fail to deliver, and we are not responsible for any dispute, non-payment, cancellation, injury or loss arising between you and a family.

You are solely responsible for your own taxes, insurance, licensing, police or vulnerable-sector record checks where required, and compliance with every law that applies to you working with minors.

5. Student Data — Your Obligations

When a parent connects their child to you, you gain access to personal information about a child. This is the most serious obligation in these terms.

What you can see for a connected student: their first name, grade, curriculum, subjects, lesson and exam progress, concept-level strengths and gaps, assignments you have set, and the answers they submitted to work you assigned.

You agree that you will:

  • Use student information only to tutor that specific student, and for no other purpose.
  • Keep it confidential, and not disclose it to anyone other than that student's parent or guardian, unless the parent instructs you otherwise in writing or the law requires it.
  • Not use it for marketing, advertising, profiling, research, training any machine-learning model, or any commercial purpose unrelated to tutoring that student.
  • Not sell, rent, license, publish or otherwise transfer it to any third party.
  • Not copy or export more of it than you need, and store any copy you do make securely.
  • Destroy or permanently delete any copy you hold once you are no longer tutoring that student, except where you must keep records by law.
  • Comply with all applicable privacy law, including Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
  • Tell us promptly — at support@skolvio.com — if you become aware of any loss, theft or unauthorised disclosure of student information you obtained through Skolvio.

Access is granted by the parent and can be withdrawn by the parent at any time, without notice or reason. When a connection ends, your access to that student ends immediately. You must not attempt to retain, restore or work around that.

6. How Students Are Connected to You

A student is connected to you only when their parent or guardian initiates the connection by entering your email address, and you then accept the request. You cannot add a student yourself, and you must not ask a parent to connect a child that you are not actually tutoring.

The parent holds the Skolvio account, pays Skolvio directly, provides consent for their child, and controls the connection. You must not ask a parent to share their Skolvio account credentials or their child's login PIN with you, and you must not use them if offered.

7. Child Safety

You are working with children. You agree that you will conduct yourself professionally and lawfully at all times, and that you will not use Skolvio, or any information obtained through it, to contact a child outside the tutoring arrangement the parent has agreed to.

Skolvio provides no supervision of your sessions and no monitoring of contact that happens outside our platform. If you become aware that a child is at risk of harm, you are responsible for taking the action the law requires of you, including reporting to the appropriate authorities.

We may suspend or remove any tutor account immediately, without notice and at our sole discretion, where we believe there is a risk to a child.

8. Your Public Profile

If you publish a profile page, everything on it must be true. You must not overstate or fabricate qualifications, credentials, degrees, certifications, experience, results or reviews, and you must not claim to be certified, accredited or endorsed by any body, including Skolvio, unless you are.

You confirm that you own, or have permission to use, everything you upload — including your photograph, biography and any video — and you grant Skolvio a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display and reproduce that material for the purpose of operating and promoting your profile page. This licence ends when you unpublish or delete your profile, except for copies already cached or held in backups.

You must not publish another person's photograph, biography or credentials, or create a profile for anyone other than yourself. We may unpublish or remove any profile at any time, including where we believe a claim on it is untrue.

If you enable trial booking, you are responsible for honouring the sessions that families book with you, or for cancelling them in good time. Skolvio does not guarantee that any booking will be honoured by either side.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree that you will not:

  • Scrape, crawl, harvest, index or bulk-extract any data from Skolvio, whether manually or by automated means, or use any bot, spider or scraper on the Service.
  • Use Skolvio, or any information obtained through it, to build, train, benchmark, produce or market a competing or substantially similar product or service, or to copy any of its features, content or design.
  • Transmit advertisements, solicitations, chain messages, investment offers or any other unsolicited commercial communication through Skolvio or to any contact you obtained through Skolvio. Any commercial email you do send must comply with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
  • Encourage, induce or assist a family to cancel or avoid their Skolvio subscription, or misrepresent Skolvio's pricing, features or terms to a family.
  • Redistribute, resell, republish or license Skolvio content — including lessons, worksheets, answer keys, exams and reports — as your own product, or to anyone other than the students you are tutoring. You may freely print and use them with your own students; you may not package or sell them.
  • Use a family's contact details obtained through Skolvio for anything other than tutoring that family's child.
  • Share your login, let anyone else use your account, or hold more than one tutor account.
  • Attempt to access any student, family or tutor record you have not been granted access to, probe or test the security of the Service, or interfere with its operation.
  • Misrepresent your identity, or impersonate any person or organisation.
  • Use the Service for anything unlawful, or in breach of any agreement you have with a third party, including another tutoring platform.

10. Intellectual Property

Skolvio and its licensors own the Service and all content in it, including curriculum content, lessons, generated questions, worksheets, answer keys, reports, software, design and branding.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use that content for the sole purpose of tutoring your own students. Every other right is reserved. This licence ends when your account ends.

11. AI-Generated Content

Worksheets, questions, answer keys, exams and report wording are generated using artificial intelligence. AI output can contain errors. You are responsible for reviewing anything you hand to a student or send to a parent. Skolvio is not liable for any error in generated content, or for any consequence of your relying on it without checking it.

12. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using the tutor portal and delete your account at any time by contacting support@skolvio.com.

We may suspend or terminate your tutor account at any time, with or without notice, including for breach of these terms, for conduct we consider a risk to a child or a family, or where we discontinue the tutor portal.

When your account ends, your access to every connected student's information ends, your public profile is removed, and your obligations in Sections 5, 7, 9, 10, 13 and 14 continue to apply.

13. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The tutor portal is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or uninterrupted availability.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Skolvio is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of income, students, profit, goodwill or data, arising out of or relating to your use of the tutor portal.

Because the tutor portal is provided to you free of charge, our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to these terms is limited to one hundred Canadian dollars (CAD $100).

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Skolvio, its directors, officers and employees from any claim, demand, loss, liability or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of: your tutoring; your conduct toward any student, family or child; your breach of these terms; your misuse of student information; any claim on your public profile; or your breach of any law or of any agreement you have with a third party.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms. We will post the updated version with a new "Last Updated" date and, for material changes, give notice by email to the address on your tutor account. Continuing to use the tutor portal after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the tutor portal and close your account.

16. Governing Law and General

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply in it. The courts of Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, and you consent to that jurisdiction.

If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. These terms, with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Skolvio regarding the tutor portal, and supersede any prior discussion, pilot arrangement or proposal.
