Our approach

We built Skolvio to make kids think more, not less.

There’s a real worry that AI does children’s thinking for them. We started from the opposite belief — and designed every part of Skolvio around it. Here’s the thinking, and why you can trust it.

The honest worry

“Won’t the AI just do it for them?

It’s the right question to ask. Most AI tools answer it badly: a child types a question, the AI hands back the answer, and it gets copied down with nothing learned. That really can make kids think less. So we built the opposite.

An answer botWhat we didn’t build
1Child types in the question
2AI hands over the finished answer
3Child copies it down
4The thinking was skipped entirely
Nothing actually sticks
A real tutorWhat we built
1Tutor explains the idea clearly
2Then asks the child to try it
3Waits — and nudges if they’re stuck
4The child reaches the answer themselves
Understanding that lasts
The rule behind everything: the child does the thinking. Always.
The skills you don’t want lost

Writing and reading are practised, not outsourced.

The deepest fear is that kids stop writing, stop reading closely, and stop building their own arguments. So we built two studios that make them do exactly that — with a coach beside them, never a ghostwriter.

Writing Studio

Your child writes a real piece — a story, an opinion, an explanation — in their own words. Then Skolvio coaches it trait by trait against the Ontario grade-level standard: ideas, organization, word choice, conventions. Not a red-pen grade — specific, encouraging feedback that shows them how to make it better, then has them write it again.

Ideas Organization Word Choice Conventions

Reading Studio

A fresh passage every time — mystery, science, history — with comprehension questions and open-response prompts the child answers in full sentences. Skolvio reads what they wrote and shows them how to dig deeper and back a claim with evidence: the skill that lifts every other subject.

Comprehension Inference Evidence

Skolvio never writes the piece for them. It coaches them to make their own better — then has them do it again.

The thinking behind it

Three layers behind every single lesson.

A good lesson isn’t one thing — it’s the right content, in the right voice, taught the right way for the subject. We engineered all three so a Skolvio lesson feels like a real tutor sitting beside your child.

Layer 1 · The content

Grounded in the real curriculum

Every lesson is built on the official Ontario curriculum for your child’s exact grade and reviewed before it goes live. The tutor teaches that — it can’t wander off it or invent the syllabus.

  • Aligned to the Ontario curriculum
  • Reviewed before your child sees it
  • Never improvised live by a chatbot
Layer 2 · The voice

Pitched to your child’s grade

The same concept is delivered differently at 9 than at 13 — tone, vocabulary, and pace shift the way a good teacher’s naturally would, so it never feels too young or over their head.

  • Grades 4–6: warm, playful, concrete
  • Grades 7–8: friendly, conversational
  • Same concept, right-sized delivery
Layer 3 · The method

Taught the way each subject works

Math, English, and Science are different disciplines. Each has its own teaching logic, question types, and ways of checking understanding — so a lesson never feels generic.

  • Math: worked examples, step by step
  • English: real passages, evidence first
  • Science: a wonder question, then inquiry
One connected system

Most AI tools are scattered pieces. Skolvio is one loop.

A video here, a worksheet app there, an answer bot, a separate quiz — none of them talk to each other, and nobody’s watching the whole picture. Skolvio connects every step into one loop, and tracks every concept across all of it.

Most AI tools — disconnected; you stitch it together

Skolvio — connected; every step feeds the next
Teach Practice Check Spot the gap
loops until it’s mastered

Every concept is tracked across all of it — so a gap caught in a quiz becomes the practice you see next, not a number that just sits there.

Feedback you can act on

You see exactly where your child stands.

The loop closes with you. Skolvio tracks every concept, shows you the precise questions missed, and sends one calm note a week — so you always have the answer to “is my kid okay?”

Concept by concept

Not “Math: 78%.” Place value, fractions, inference — each concept on its own, banded strong, getting there, or needs work, so you see what’s solid and what’s shaky.

The exact gaps

See the precise questions your child got wrong — then print fresh practice on just that gap, and Skolvio keeps looping it until it’s mastered.

One weekly note

Every Sunday, a warm, plain-language summary in your inbox: what went well this week, and the one thing worth trying next. No dashboards to decode.

Full transparency

What the AI does — and doesn’t do

When it comes to your child’s education, you deserve to know exactly where the lines are.

The AI does
Explain each concept conversationally, then check it landed
Ask the child to try it — and wait for their answer
Re-explain a different way when they’re stuck
Generate fresh practice on the lesson’s topic
Show step-by-step working on a wrong answer
Coach real writing and reading, trait by trait
Adapt its tone and pace to your child’s grade
The AI doesn’t
Do your child’s thinking or hand over the answer
Invent or make up curriculum content
Write your child’s essay or response for them
Go off-topic or discuss unrelated subjects
Give your child access to the open internet
Show ads, or sell your child’s data — ever
Replace the judgment of a real teacher or parent
